From apprentices to experienced professionals and studios, CPPA membership is built to support safer practices, continuing education, and a stronger industry.

Apprentice Member

For apprentices and individuals currently training to become professional piercers.

Requirements:
  • Proof of active apprenticeship and mentorship

  • Agreement to CPPA standards and Code of Ethics

  • Apprenticeship conducted within a CPPA-approved studio, or studio walkthrough submission as part of the application process

For individuals and organizations who support the advancement of professional piercing, including jewelry manufacturers, suppliers, educators, healthcare professionals, studio managers, front-of-house professionals, jewelry specialists, and other industry partners.

For professional piercers actively working within a professional studio environment.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years professional piercing experience

  • Agreement to CPPA standards and Code of Ethics

  • Employment within a CPPA-approved studio, or studio walkthrough submission as part of the application process

All memberships include:

Memberships must be renewed annually and will remain active as long as members continue to uphold CPPA standards and requirements.

Studio Walkthrough Requirement

As part of the application process, applicants are required to submit a virtual studio walkthrough video and supporting documentation for review.


This helps CPPA better understand the environments members work within and supports our commitment to professionalism, safer piercing practices, and meaningful membership standards.

Walkthroughs may include:

  • Procedure areas

  • Handwashing stations

  • Sterilization equipment

  • Jewelry storage

  • Cleaning and disinfecting areas

  • Sharps disposal

  • General studio setup
